Description: This 1942 Boeing PT-17 Stearman was surplused by the USAF and used at a Chicago vocational school until the late 1980s. Restored in 1995 at ~1,700 TTAF, it received new wing wood, cables, wiring, hardware, Ceconite 102 covering, and overhauled instruments. Always hangared and never used for spraying or dusting, it’s been flown purely for fun. With two years of clean Blackstone oil analysis and well-documented maintenance, this Stearman is smooth, strong, and ready to fly. Highlights: Complete restoration in 1995 with Ceconite 102 covering. Never used as sprayer or duster. Always hangared. New Tires and Tubes installed in 2023 w/ approximately 50 hours since new

Exterior

The exterior was recovered in Ceconite 102 in 1995 after complete restoration and has an Army Air Corps paint scheme. It features a blue fuselage, yellow wings with US Army on bottom wing, National Star Insignia (pre-war) lower and upper wings, and red and white stripes on the tail.

Interior

The interior is army green with black seats complete with Hooker Harnesses in both front and back seats.
